Forchir was founded at the beginning of the last century by the Forchir family in Felettis di Bicinicco, making it one of the oldest winemaking estates in Friuli.  Current owner Gianfranco Bianchini is determined to make quality wines with "Terroir,” a unique interaction of the vine with the environment; a condition that cannot be duplicated in other areas. The unique soil and climate allow the vines to express their full potential.
 
The estate consists of three plots with two different types of soils:
1. Felettis di Bicinicco: heavy, clayey, ferrous soils used for red wines.
2. Camino al Tagliamento and Spilimbergo: alluvial and gravelly soils called "magredi,” ideal for white wines.
 
The vines are cultivated with the lowest environmental impact and winemaking takes place without using any sulfur dioxide.

Pinot grigio "lamis"

GRAPES:

100% Pinot Grigio Friuli D.O.C. Grave.

OUR VINEYARDS:

“Lamis” of Barbeano di Spilimbergo (Pordenone).

SOIL TYPE:

alluvial, dolomitic-calcareous.

VINIFICATION:

soft pressing and fermentation at a controlled temperature of 18°C with no added sulfites.

MATURATION:

in stainless-steel vats.

ALCOHOL CONTENT:

12%

TYPICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

light straw-yellow wine with a light, pleasant aroma.
Dry and lean, full-bodied and harmonious, with a distinct almond aftertaste.

GRAPES:

100% Glera.

OUR VINEYARDS:

Camino al tagliamento e Precenicco (Udine) , grown according to the Guyot method with 5,000 vines per hectare.

SOIL TYPE:

alluvial, pebbly.

VINIFICATION:

gentle pressing and fermentation in autoclave with no added sulfites, for full enhancement of all the fruitiness that is then transferred into the bottle.
