Wines / France / Marne / Vallee de la Marne / Damery
The diminutive Domaine Alexandre Filaine is the creation of talented vigneron Fabrice Gass, an organic grower in the hillside village of Damery, just downslope from the famed abbey of Hautvilliers. HIs production is infinitesimal, totalling some 3,000 bottles annually across his range of cuvees.
The wines are blends of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. All three of his wines are the same inherent wine, with one being a “barrel reserve” and the third a single-vintage cuvee he’s made only once so far.
Chardonnay/Pinot Noir/Pinot Meunier. Dosage 3-4 g/l. Creamy and lemony, long and complex.
Base wine approx 2 years older than the Speciale. Toasty, hints of lemon brioche, vanilla brulee. Highly limited, some 35 cases annual to USA.
Sensuun Vertigo 2007
Single-vintage wine. Incredibly long and complete in the glass, brioche toast and fresh pastry. EXTREMELY LIMITED.
