Eola Hills Winery is located outside Salem Oregon at the south end of the Eola-Amity AVA, which is part of the larger Willamette Valley AVA. Winery founder Tom Huggins and winemaker Steve Anderson take advantage of the location’s cooling Pacific breezes to make wines in a bright, fruit-forward style.
The winery has won accolades at from the Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, and been given numerous awards at the Newport Wine and Food Festival, The San Francisco and San Diego Internationals, and many others. According to the Wine Enthusiast, “you can’t do much better than this well made wine… brambly black cherry fruit… ripe, moderate tannins balancing out a medium-long finish.”
The Pinot Gris is crisp and clean with hints of melon in the nose, ripe and balanced with good acidity. A perfect match for grilled fish, chicken or pasta salads!
The Pinot Noir is bright and filled with cherry and berry fruit. The nose leads into a really nice full mid-palate that explodes with clean fresh fruit flavors, then into a long, juicy finish. Pair with grilled salmon, tuna, chicken or a cold sliced flank steak.
