"Zahir" Cabernet sauvignon

95 Pts., BEST CHILEAN CABERNET SAUVIGNON (2008, Descorchados Chilean Wine Guide 2012)

In the high Cachapoal, almost 3300 ft above sea level with cold climate conditions, natural constant ventilation, provides a refreshed environment to the Santa Cruz de Coya estate. These natural weather conditions allow slow maturity that favors the development of the vine, resulting in exceptional wine grapes, delivering a unique fruit that reflects both, the terroir and ecosystem in which it is located.

The black fruit is felt prominently, however it does not lead to over maturity. The balance provided by texture and acidity is expressed in the lively sophistication of the Cabernet Sauvignon. 1500 bottles of each vintage aged for 26 months in first use French oak barrels make of Zahir our greatest pride.
