Calyptra

chardonnay GRAND RESERVe

93 Pts. (2009, Descorchados Chilean Wine Guide 2012)

In the high Cachapoal, almost 3300 ft above sea level with cold climate conditions, natural constant ventilation, provides a refreshed environment to the Santa Cruz de Coya estate. These natural weather conditions allow slow maturity that favors the development of the vine, resulting in exceptional wine grapes, delivering a unique fruit that reflects both, the terroir and ecosystem in which it is located.

Definitely an old style Chardonnay with a powerful acidity and structure. Extremely consistent, almost tannic. Varied aromas encompassed by mineral hints. For it body and character, a white that stands like a red.
